Dr. Feroz Mulani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, with academic, industrial, and research experience in thermal engineering, heat transfer, fluid flow, and energy systems. He holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur, and an M.Tech. in Thermal Engineering. He completed his doctoral research at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Trivandrum, focusing on melting dynamics and heat transfer enhancement in latent heat thermal energy storage systems using different heating-surface geometries, patterns, and orientations.

His research expertise includes experimental and numerical investigation of phase change materials (PCMs), latent heat thermal energy storage, natural convection, heat transfer enhancement, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). He has experience in ANSYS Fluent, UDF development, numerical modelling, experimental setup development, data acquisition, and advanced post-processing techniques. His research work combines computational and experimental approaches to understand heat transfer and fluid-flow phenomena in thermal energy storage systems.

Prior to joining academia, Dr. Mulani gained industrial experience in quality engineering and design engineering, including experience with pressure-vessel design, thermal analysis, inspection, and engineering standards. He has also served as an Assistant Professor and has experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, laboratory instruction, student project supervision, and academic assessment.

His current research interests include advanced thermal energy storage, phase-change heat transfer, innovative heating-surface configurations, thermal management, fire and thermal safety, CFD-based modelling, and emerging energy technologies. He is particularly interested in interdisciplinary research connecting thermal engineering, energy systems, computational modelling, and industrial safety.

M.tech (thermal engineering), Visvesaraya technological university, Belgaum, Karnataka. (2014), 8.72 CGPA.
