Dr. Mihir B. Trivedi is a seasoned academician and researcher with over 14 years of teaching experience in Mathematics and Statistics. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Rai University, Ahmedabad, where his research focused on "Sequence, Series and Associated Matrices and Related Properties." His academic journey also includes an M.Phil from Gujarat University, where he explored geometric transformations such as Frieze and Wallpaper groups, and M.Sc and B.Sc degrees from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Throughout his career, Dr. Trivedi has demonstrated a strong command over both pure and applied mathematics.

His primary research interests lie in the development of generator matrices for infinite sequences using recurrence relations, along with the study of their mathematical properties and interrelationships. He has introduced original sequences such as the Jha sequence and the CDS sequence, and has contributed extensively to the study of classical sequences including Pell, Catalan, Motzkin, and Narayana numbers. His scholarly work has been published in reputed peer-reviewed international journals, including the IOSR Journal of Mathematics and the International Journal of Statistics and Applied Mathematics, and he has actively presented his research at national and international conferences.

At GSFC University, where he is currently serving as Senior Assistant Professor – Mathematics, Dr. Trivedi teaches a wide range of subjects across both the School of Engineering and the School of Science. These include Calculus, Linear Algebra, Advanced Engineering Mathematics, Numerical Methods, Probability and Statistical Methods, and Operations Research. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he has played a pivotal administrative role, having coordinated academic activities for B.Tech First Year programs (July 2020 – June 2023) and served as Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Computer Applications program (June 2023 – July 2024).

Dr. Trivedi also holds knowledge on optimization techniques and data analysis, making him well-versed in both theoretical and practical applications of Mathematics and Statistics. His academic leadership, curriculum development, and dedication to research underscore his commitment to advancing mathematical sciences and mentoring the next generation of scholars.

About 14 years of teaching experience

  • as an Assistant Professor of Engineering Mathematics at L.J. Institute of Engineering and Technology, Ahmedabad. (3rd August 2010 To 13th August 2019)
  • as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at GSFC University, Fertilizar Nagar, Vadodara. (14th August, 2019 To June 2024)
  • as an Senior Assistant Professor of Mathematics at GSFC University, Fertilizar Nagar, Vadodara. (July 2014 To till date)

Dr. Mihir B. Trivedi's research activities primarily focus on the exploration and development of generator matrices for infinite sequences derived through recurrence relations, as exemplified in his notable work on the Pell, Pell+, and CDS sequences.

His scholarly contributions extend to studying the intricate properties and interrelationships of well-known combinatorial structures such as Catalan, Motzkin, and Narayana numbers. Through his research, Dr. Trivedi has introduced new mathematical sequences and offered fresh perspectives on classical number patterns, enriching the theoretical foundation of discrete mathematics and sequence analysis.
