Lt. Mukund Kumar Jha is an accomplished academician, sports administrator, and NCC officer with over nine years of experience in higher education and school systems, including extensive leadership responsibilities in student affairs, sports management, and institutional administration. He currently serves as Associate Dean – Student Activities, Sports & NCC and Assistant Professor of Physical Education at GSFC University, Vadodara.

He holds a Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) from Gujarat University, a Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) from Swarnim Gujarat Sports University, and a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Gujarat University. He has also qualified the Gujarat State Eligibility Test (GSET) and pursued advanced professional development in Sports Psychology, Exercise Physiology, Sports Nutrition, Yoga, Injury Rehabilitation, First Aid, and Mindfulness Training.

His academic and professional interests include Biomechanics, Human Anatomy, Sports Medicine, Sports Injuries, Exercise Physiology, Yoga, Fitness Management, and Sports Performance. He is actively involved in promoting holistic wellness through evidence-based physical education, fitness initiatives, and student development programs.

A commissioned Lieutenant in the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Lt. Jha completed the prestigious Pre-Commission Course at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Nagpur. He has played a significant role in shaping youth leadership, discipline, and national service through NCC training and mentorship. Under his guidance, NCC cadets have achieved selection to the Republic Day Camp (RDC) for three consecutive years, while several cadets have represented India internationally through the Youth Exchange Programme (YEP).

Recognized for his commitment to student success and mentorship, he has received the Best Mentor Award at GSFC University for two consecutive years. Beyond academics, he actively oversees university sports, student clubs, fitness facilities, wellness programs, and large-scale institutional events, fostering an environment that supports leadership, teamwork, and holistic development.

Through his unique blend of academic expertise, military leadership, and sports administration, Lt. Mukund Kumar Jha continues to contribute significantly to the development of physically fit, socially responsible, and future-ready students.

  • His research focus includes preventive strategies, athlete education, and fostering a culture of fair play and integrity in sports.

Yoga and Mindfulness for Holistic Well-being

  • Lt. Jha is passionate about exploring the role of Yoga and mindfulness-based practices in enhancing mental focus, emotional resilience, and overall well-being.
