Monish Rana (BCS, PGDCA, DCL, CEH | Lead Auditor – ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 22301 & ISO/IEC 20000-1) is an experienced Cyber Security professional, Software Developer, Entrepreneur and Visiting Faculty, with more than 30 years of industry experience and more than 20 years of teaching experience. He combines practical industry knowledge with a student-centric approach to professional development, helping students connect academic concepts with the realities of software development, cyber security and the technology industry.

He is the Founder and Proprietor of Tech Solutions Mobile (Tech Solutions Mobile) and currently also serves as Visiting Faculty at GSFC University, Gujarat, India. He has also been invited as Visiting Faculty and Guest Speaker by leading business schools, engineering institutes and universities including Savitribai Phule Pune University, NMIMS, Amity University, S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, and Welingkar Institute of Management (WeSchool).

His professional expertise spans software development, relational database management systems, operating systems, web-application development, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), mobile application development, Cyber Security, ethical hacking, IT security audits, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, programming languages, FinTech, HealthTech and software development frameworks. His industry experience covers manufacturing, healthcare, e-commerce, distribution, logistics, wholesale, pharma retail, jewellery manufacturing and retail, banking, telecom, taxation, internal and statutory audits, and exports and imports.

Over the course of his entrepreneurial journey, he has developed and implemented customised software applications and ERP solutions involving complex business logic and integration with multiple internal and external entities. His work has included solutions for MSMEs and family-owned businesses, as well as delivering sophisticated software and cybersecurity solutions to a global portfolio of clients, ranging from New York to Tokyo.

A distinctive aspect of his professional contribution has been the development of more than 100 technical methodologies relating to SQL design patterns and software development, which he has made available in the public domain without copyright restrictions, enabling developers to freely use, modify and distribute them.

As Founder of Tech Solutions Mobile, he has focused on creating a stress-free work environment built around ethical values. Over the years, this entrepreneurial ecosystem has supported more than a thousand interns, trainees and IT professionals in gaining practical exposure and pursuing careers in their chosen fields.

Tech Solutions Mobile has received recognition for its work, including selection among eight business ideas from more than 200 entries nationwide for the Financial Services #Hackathon at IIM Ahmedabad’s CIIE, the Best-App Award from NASSCOM, and features on CNBC TV18’s Young Turks and CNBC Awaaz’s Awaaz Entrepreneur.

As an educator, Monish places strong emphasis on practical, industry-oriented learning. His teaching approach is centred on helping students understand not only how technology works, but also why it is used, how it is implemented in real organisations, and what professional skills are expected in the workplace. He draws extensively on real-world project experience, case studies and practical examples to make technical subjects accessible and relevant.

His academic and professional qualifications include BCS (Bachelor of Computer Science) from Pune University (1992-1995), A-Level Certification from the Department of Electronics, Government of India (1993-1995), PGDCA from Tata Unisys Education Centre – Pune (1994-1996), Diploma in Cyber Laws from Asian School of Cyber Laws – Pune (2010), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) – Mumbai (2019), and Lead Auditor (2019) qualifications through Exemplar Global, Australia, for ISO/IEC 27001:2013 (ISMS), ISO 22301:2012 (BCMS) and ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 (SMSA).

Beyond his professional and academic activities, he has contributed to community and social initiatives. He is a Past President of Rotary Club of Mumbai Goregaon West, District 3141, and has served as Treasurer and Honorary Secretary of Shri Vadnagara Nagar Mandal-Mumbai, a community organisation with a history spanning more than a century. In Vadodara, he is volunteering as a teacher at Koshish Seva Sanstha, a street school in Laxmipura, and is contributing as an acupressure therapist at Jay Bhagwan Free Acupressure Service (International), Atma Jyoti Ashram, Ellora Park.

His interests include graphology, astronomy, nature trails, spiritual healing and pro-bono social service. He is also a well-read writer on Quora, sharing insights and perspectives on a wide range of topics.
