Dr Shilpa Gamit

Dr. Shilpa Vilish Gamit is an academic, researcher, and trainer with over 15 years of teaching, research, and administrative experience in higher education. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Communication from Gujarat University (2022) and advanced degrees in English Literature from Sardar Patel University, Gujarat, India.

Her doctoral research, “Teaching of Business Communication at Professional Courses in Gujarat: An Analysis”, employed both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, strengthening her expertise in applied research. Earlier, her M.Phil. research explored literary and cinematic adaptations through “A Comparative Study of Chetan Bhagat’s Five Point Someone and its Film Adaptation 3 Idiots*.”

Currently, Dr. Shilpa serves as an Assistant Professor at the School of Management & Liberal Arts, GSFC University, where she teaches Business Communication, Corporate Communication, and Soft Skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students. She also holds the role of Programme Coordinator for the B.Com programme, is an active member of the International Cell, and served as a Committee Member for the ICON AI Summit 2025.

Over the course of her career, she has published and presented widely in national and international journals and conferences, with contributions such as “Journey of Social Media and the Advancement of Corporate Communications,” “Business English in PG Curriculum of Indian B-Schools: A Study,” and “Grammar Translation Method: UG Students’ Perspective.” She has also undertaken translation work, including the Gujarati-to-English novel Wings published by Partridge Publications.

Beyond academics, Dr. Shilpa has been actively engaged in student counselling, training, and international academic collaborations, with professional memberships including ELT@I Baroda and the International Exchange Alumni, USA. Her areas of specialization include Business Communication, English Literature, Film Studies, Translation, and Soft Skills Development.

Driven by a passion for teaching, research, and community engagement, Dr. Shilpa continues to contribute toward creating inclusive, research-oriented, and skill-driven educational environments that empower students and foster cross-cultural understanding.
