Dr. Amit Singh’s research focuses on hydrate-based gas separation technologies for sustainable energy and environmental applications. His Ph.D. research at IIT Roorkee primarily addressed the separation of CH4-CO2 gas mixtures for biogas upgrading using gas hydrate technology. His work involved the design and optimization of experimental setups, investigation of hydrate formation and dissociation kinetics, and enhancement of gas separation efficiency using biodegradable additives and thermodynamic promoters.
His research expertise includes gas hydrates, CO2 capture and sequestration, gas storage, hydrate thermodynamics, phase equilibrium studies, and sustainable environmental engineering. He has hands-on experience with Gas Chromatography (GC), Raman Spectroscopy, hydrate phase equilibrium calculations, and experimental process optimization.
Dr. Singh has contributed significantly to the field through multiple publications in reputed international journals and presentations at international conferences including ICGH-10, Singapore. He has also worked on funded research projects related to CH4/CO2 gas separation through hydrate formation under Faculty Initiation Grant (FIG) supported research at IIT Roorkee.
